A management development program based on policies is important toward employees progress.
To carry out an effective management development program we have to follow these:
- Planning – the authorized personnel plans out according to the needs of the employee. Necessary assistance is given to concerned individual based on their needs,
- Mentoring – a person of higher position will serve as “godfather”, supporter to the employee to be developed, providing him the opportunity to achieve his goals,
- Conferences – the employee will be required to attend conferences in order to update him with the current issues and concerns related to his job,
- Classroom type methodologies – these predominantly composed the traditional educational tools: lecture, audio visual presentation, seminar and workshop, case study
Seminars deal mostly with sharing information delivered thru a lecture and a concluding open forum or questions and answers sessions. Workshop include group work and group discussions. Case study can be done individually or in group. They involve analysis and identification of a problem or a given case for possible solutions and recommendations on how to respond to the problems.
The management development program is essentially for the employee to come out of the experience with more knowledge and more insights into the human dynamics or interpersonal relationship.
