Technological improvements and Modernization of living have resulted in the growth and expansion of commerce and industry around us. Rapid population growth around the world also caused serious environmental condition and resulted into heavy floods, spreading of incurable diseases and a lot of environmental dilemma. In addition to this, the improper disposal of waste creates unwholesome situation.
As responsible citizens, we must be good stewards of God’s creation specifically, our environment. We need to learn and be in a habit of managing our garbage and thrash to avoid health problems. We need to take care of the resources around us like seas, rivers, lakes, trees, forest and the likes. We need to maintain it cleanliness so they can be valuable to us. To deal with climate change, we need to plant trees and other useful plants and avoid chemicals that will destroy our environment.
Taking care of what God has given us is our primary role as human beings. Being responsible and good steward of all the things around us is necessary in order to maintain a healthy, pleasant and productive environment where we can peacefully and progressively live. As public health nurses, it is our duty to educate both the children in school and teachers, as well about it and serve as role model to them.
