Ratio of 1:50 normal numbers for teachers. One teacher that will pay attention, love and understanding to 50 students in 10 months’ time or more. Being a teacher is not an ordinary thing or ordinary occupation its needs a lot of time, love and strategies for his students to learn. We said that the teacher build the builders of the nation, thus it is the noblest profession of all. The bus of learning will not move if there is no teacher, because they are the primary mover of education.
An ideal teacher must possess professional and personal attitudes. First teacher must have mastery of the subject.” One who cannot give what he does not have, thus teacher must able to know or he may have a more knowledge on what topic he will going to teach. My ideal teacher must understand his learners or students. This is important because if you know the background of your students you will also know how to make easier the teaching of the lesson or you may select best strategy or technique. Base on their experiences sometimes you can relate the topic. Teacher must also link or connect his idea or knowledge to other branches for easy understanding. My ideal teacher must possess personal characteristics. For me this are hints and reflection of their true colours for being a movers of learning. Teacher must be physically and mentally healthy. Does any assignment or task given to him with gladness and finesse. Teacher must have fair level of tolerance, firmness and impartiality without any favouritism. Next is teacher must be adaptable, alert, resourceful and creative in any teaching situation. It is important for an ideal teacher to have clean sense of humor because now a days millennial’s like jokes and funny moments incorporate to lesson especially in holy hour to avoid the boredom. Also teacher must be a role model to all and must have good moral and ethical character. Must have good grooming, professional and human relation not only for the students but also for his co-colleagues, superior and parents. Lastly my ideal teacher is like a wheel that continue spinning, never stop in reading books and journal in education, attending educational conferences, seminars and workshops to grow him professionally.
I will be a teacher someday, now I strived harder to possess all of those characteristics because I want in the future one of my student says that SIR YOU ARE MY IDEAL TEACHER!!!
