Summer vacation is the most dangerous time for kids. It is according to the study released by the National Safe Kids Campaign. They found out that April through June account for nearly half of all injury related childhood deaths. And according to the study, unintentional injury remains the leading killer of children.

During the summer months, risks to children are heightened especially when children are out of school. This is because they are lack of enough supervision and they spend more time outdoors.

To keep the children safe and to prevent accidental childhood injury, a safe kids’ campaign has provided. During the campaign, public opinion is important for both parents and children in regard to their views of kids’ safety. Furthermore, most of the parents worry too much about their children being hurt in an accident and it is not easy for them to identify the leading cause of mishap. Although some parents have identified accidents as the leading cause of death or disability of children, they also consider the violence and disease/illness. Moreover, even they are worried to the increased child fatality rate from accidental injury; they still allowed their children to participate in different activities without supervision.
